About the Author

Rob Collins is Research Associate in the Department of Archaeology at Newcastle University. His principal research interests are in frontier studies and the collapse of complex societies, making use of archaeological remains of built structures and small finds to provide a social interpretation of the material record. Dr Sam Moorhead is the National Finds Adviser for Ancient Coins in the Portable Antiquities Scheme at the British Museum, currently completing the new Roman Imperial Coinage volume on Carausius and Allectus. Sam has published numerous books and articles on Roman history and coinage.
