Attachment parenting is a highly intuitive, high-touch style of parenting that encourages a strong early attachment, and advocates consistent parental responsiveness to babies' dependency needs. Rather than give parents a strict set of rules about when to breastfeed or when to respond to a cry, The Sears' approach encourages parents to learn and work with their baby's particular cues. Their book focuses on the benefits of attachment parenting for both parent and child, and explains how attachment parenting improves development, makes discipline easier, and even promotes independence. There is further information on attachment parenting for working parents and on weaning your child from attachment parenting, as well as scientific research that explains why attachment parenting works.

It's a great book. Seems like practical advices of continuum-concept, although it's not mentioned in the book at all.
I recommend this book to everybody who wants to listen to her own feelings instead of other people advices.
This is a brilliant book, I put all their ideas into practice and I feel that my child is more relaxed and I get more sleep and feel more confident. I would say there is no other way to parent your child.
This book is a modern guide to parenting that gives practical and realistic advice to parents. I feel that it differs from some parenting manuals in that it acknowledges the frailty of parents and the humanity of children. This is a book that provides new parents with some researched information so as to encourage them to follow their own parental instincts.
This book is not an instruction manual, but it does provide ideas to be used more like a "parenting toolbox". This enables parents to become the experts on their own children, rather that relinquishing that role to "professionals".
I'd recommend this book to all new and expecting parents.
i can agree with the reviewer above me, she has really summed up how i also feel. i feel a sense of closeness whenever i feed my baby, i'm sure she feels it to. i look forward to breast feeding now, i used to fread it especially since she has sharp teeth and wandering hands! i've learned to love it.
this is a beautiful book and it was such an inspirational read. it really taught me lot about the emotional and spiritual side of parenting unlike most parenting books which focus on the physical aspects of raising a child. i have an amazing relationship with my gorgeous wee baby and i owe it to the attatchment parenting book.
