About the Author

As a renowned authority on the life and works of Bob Dylan, Derek Baker founded the international Bob Dylan magazine 'ISIS' in September 1985, and has edited this highly respected journal without interruption for the past twenty years. The magazine is sold in book and record stores worldwide and has subscribers in 32 countries. Derek Barker first edited (in book form) a collection of writings and interviews from the back pages of 'ISIS' in November 2001. 'ISIS: A Bob Dylan Anthology' [Helter Skelter 2001] received almost universal rave reviews. It sold out a hardback edition and two paperback runs. A revised edition of the book [Helter Skelter 2004] remains in print. Over the years, Barker has contributed regularly to BBC and Independent television and radio programs on Bob Dylan, and has been featured on similar stations in Europe and North America. Derek Barker has had his writings on Bob Dylan published regularly in other magazines and journals throughout Great Britain, Europe, the USA and Japan. He has promoted numerous Dylan conventions worldwide and has previously worked with Chrome Dreams on Dylan related CDs and a DVD project, in which he also appeared. Barker also regularly advises premier auction house Christies on the authenticity and value of items of Dylan memorabilia. Derek Barker lives in Warwickshire, England with his wife Tracey, his stepdaughter and two cats.
