A smart, funny novel about love and friendship

About the Author

Lorelei Mathias grew up in ‘Metroland’ before studying English & Philosophy at Birmingham University. Since then she has worked in London as a Copywriter in Publishing and Advertising, and co-written a blog for Campaign Magazine.

Her first novel Step on it, Cupid, was published when she was 25, followed by Lost for Words. Break-Up Club explores the importance of friendship, and was inspired by her experiences in an accidental break-up club of her own.

Reviews

'Sparky dialogue and a lovely depiction of friendship. I loved this!' Katie Fforde 'You'd be DAFT to miss out on this fab book – it's blimmin' marvellous! I LOVED IT' Miranda Dickinson ‘A light-hearted read about the power of friendship to see you through a tough time and out the other side’ Daily Mail ‘A lively portrayal of bonds that blossom only among the broken-hearted, with a delightfully meta edge’ Helen Cox 'That rare breed of writer with a gift for making slyly humorous comments that seem to roll off her keyboard. Made me want to break up with someone, just so I could join the club immediately. Part comedy, part self-help, but wholly fabulous’ B&H Indpendent 'Required reading for anyone who's ever had their heartbroken' Lucy Robinson 'A wonderful original concept, hilariously well told and with characters that practically leap off the page at you. For anyone who's ever been through a bad break-up, this is the book for you . . .' Claudia Carroll 'Loved Lorelei Mathias' long awaited third novel Break-Up Club. Sassy and contemporary. Highly recommended' Phillipa Ashley ‘Witty, knowing and heartfelt’ The Book Doctor "At last! A true tale of what it's like to break-up. Funny, warm and heartfelt. Made me want to join the break up club immediately. Loved it!' Brighton & Hove Independent ‘Fearlessly funny, this book was such a pleasure to read I have to give a rare 5 stars. A perfect balance between exaggeration for humour and "I've been there" real-life believability. A modern, British "Friends" with brilliant groansome puns’ Erin Lawless ‘Break-Up Club, is a fun-filled read, balancing laugh out loud moments with flashes of real empathy for break up buccaneers experiences. I completely loved Holly and her unashamed honesty. Love and friendship shone through the laugh out loud moments. Loved the twists and turns and that it kept me guessing all the way to the end. Like Friends with lots of wordplay thrown in.’ Jules Wake
