About the Author

Sonja Sharp is a New York City crime reporter and an instructor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Born in San Francisco in 1985, she is an alumna of the Bay Area's premiere pediatric ICUs and a graduate of New York's top tabloids, as well as the University of California at Berkeley and Columbia University. She is a regular contributor to The Wall Street Journal, VICE and The New York Observer; her stories have also appeared in The New York Times, The New York Daily News, Tablet Magazine and Mother Jones, among others.
