About the Author

Jack London (1876-1916) was a prolific American novelist and short story writer. His most notable works include White Fang, The Call of the Wild, and The Sea-Wolf. He was born in San Francisco, California. Gary Paulsen is one of the most honored writers of contemporary literature for young readers, author of three Newbery Honor titles, Dogsong, Hatchet, and The Winter Room. He has written over 100 books for adults and young readers. He divides his time among Alaska, New Mexico, Minnesota, and the Pacific.

This low-priced edition of London's 1903 classic offers good value for the money. It is not only illustrated and annotated, but it also includes a bibliography, a chronology of events, and a scholarly introduction by editor Dyer. A real bargain for the price.

Actor Jeff Daniels expertly brings to life Jack London's classic story of survival in the Yukon Territory's harsh landscape. He reads the tale with compassion and empathy for Buck's plight, giving a pitch-perfect performance.
