Make Christmas more personal by making your own beautiful crocheted decorations. There are twenty-two projects in here including tree decorations, table ornaments, drinks tags, doilies, napkin rings, wine and gift sacks and afghans. I think my favorite has to be the gorgeous angel tree topper, timelessly elegant in antique white and the most imaginative the penguin lights! I love the idea of making your own fairy lights. Each project is given in written form with a large photograph of the finished item. There is a difficulty rating, list of what you need, gauge and handy notes together with the odd diagram. Projects range from beginner, through easy and into intermediate with the latter most abundant. This is not a book where a total tyro can learn to crochet, but a book of patterns aimed at those who can read a pattern and know the basics at least. At the very back is a page showing diagrams of stitches for anybody who is a bit rusty and in need of a memory jog, together with abbreviations, yarn conversion (ounces and grams) and what US and UK crocheters call the stitches. In here you will find a pleasing mix of traditional and modern designs that are sure to become family heirlooms and be displayed every year.
