This book presents 40 selected masterpieces from the 130 paintings exhibited at the Grand Palais, Paris, from September 2015, then at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and The National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa.
Genevieve Haroche-Bouzinac is literature professor at the university of Orleans and expert of the 18th century. She has already published Louis Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun, histoire d'un regard (Flammarion, 2011), a biography of the painter.
