ROBERT ROUSE Associate Professor, Department of English at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada. Sue Niebrzydowski is Professor in Medieval Literature at Bangor University. She has published widely in the areas of medieval women's writing and gender and devotion. THOMAS H CROFTS is Professor of English at East Tennessee State University.
