Phil Garland -'the father of New Zealand folk music' - is a living musical treasure. He began his career in rock 'n' roll, but soon developed a love of Kiwi heritage. In addition to recording 18 albums and winning numerous awards, Phil has become a foremost authority on our folk heritage, having dedicated over forty years to gathering and preserving the songs and stories of New Zealand for future generations.
