About the Author

Best-known as the creator of the original private eye, Philip Marlowe, Raymond Chandler was born in Chicago in 1888 and died in 1959. Many of his books have been adapted for the screen, and he is widely regarded as one of the very greatest writers of detective fiction. Ray Porter has garnered two Audie Award nominations and a multitude of enthusiastic reviews for his sparkling narration of audiobooks. In addition, he has appeared in numerous films and television shows, including Frasier, ER, Will & Grace, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Almost Famous.
A fifteen-year veteran of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, he lives in Los Angeles with his wife and son.
