About the Author

Karl Marx was one of the most influential thinkers of the modern age. Born in Germany in 1818, he developed a huge system of thought, the most famous part of which dealt with the historical pattern of class struggles. Jointly responsible for the Communist Manifesto, he has left an indelible mark on the intellectual and political landscapes of the 20th and 21st centuries. He died in London in 1883.
