This is the second novel in Isaac Asimov's acclaimed "Foundation" trilogy - the original trilogy, nevermind the later additions to the "canon", over twenty years after the fact. This is must read science fiction from the classic golden age period, with concise writing, great plotting and excellent ideas. Definitely not like the bloated space operas that pass for sci fi these days. Really good read, highly recommended.
