This is a wonderful book! Scary and alarming as Nathanial slowly learns the truth about his new school, and particularly its 'youth club', called The Gathering, and with splendid courage and loyalty, tenderness and irritation by turns. Nathanial, living with his mother, who likes moving home, but always missing his father, narrates the book and seeing what's going on through his eyes adds to the tension of the book.
I bought this book for my grandson, but sorry, James - both my husband and I were really gripped by this book and we're keeping it!
