Enter Falin Andrews, a mysterious new homicide detective who is unimpressed with Alex's hack magical talents, but seems to pop up inexplicably, as though he is hiding magic of his own...
The relationship that develops between Alex and Andrews was fairly obvious from the start, but the ending may just surprise you. And the visitations from Death and the mystery of who he really is, is an interesting sideline.
