About the Author

Inspired by the wave of Beatlemania that swept the UK in 1963, Laurence Juber develped a passion for the guitar and the ambition to make a career playing it. He studied at London's Goldsmith College of Music and performed with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. Becoming one of London's top studio guitarists, his playing was featured on the soundtrack of The Spy who Loved Me, as well as recordings by The Alan Parsons Project, Cerrone, Sarah Brightman, Rosemary Clooney, Charles Azanvour Lucio Battiste and Colin Blunstone, among many others. In 1978, Juber was plucked from the studio world by Paul McCartney who asked him to play lead guitar in what was to become the final incarnation of Paul's post-Beatles group, Wings. He recorded and toured with the band for three years, during which time they won a Grammy, and scored numerous chart hits. When Wings folded in 1981, Juber relocated to the USA and settled in Los Angeles. Since then he has become one of Hollywood's most in-demand studio players and has gained world-wide recognition as a virtuoso concert performer, recording artist and composer. Juber, known to his fans as LJ, has released 22 solo albums. LJ Plays The Beatles, was voted one of Acoustic Guitar Magazine's all-time Top Ten albums. Juber's solo arrangement of The Pink Panther Theme earned him a second Grammy. His latest album, Under an Indigo Sky (Solid Air Records) is a jazz/blues tinged studio album that was mixed at Hollywood's legendary Capitol Studios by top jazz recording engineer Al Schmitt and first released only on vinyl.Marshall Terrill is a veteran reporter for The Chandler (Ariz.) Connection and is the author of 10 books, including the best-selling Steve McQueen: Portrait of an American Rebel. He co-authored Maravich, a biography on the life of basketball legend Pistol Pete Maravich with Wayne Federman in 2006. His book Elvis: Still Taking Care of Business was written with Elvis Presley bodyguard Sonny West and was published in 2007. Terrill resides in Tempe, Arizona with wife, Zoe.
