About the Author

Alina Niemi is an author, illustrator, artist, musician and teacher. She is the author of The New Scoop: Recipes for Dairy-Free, Vegan Ice Cream in Unusual Flavors (Plus Some Old Favorites) and Lizard Lunch and Other Funny Animal Poems for Kids: With Animal Facts, Puzzles and Fun Activities. Her latest book combines education and fun. Learn about Hawaii's culture, food, people, and animals while you color and draw. No special skills required. Recently she has been seen atop a mountain of wood and leaf chips. She was battling them into the compost pile and her organic vegetable garden. She is still alive and shoveling, in between working on her next books.
