About the Author

Dipak Kumar Chakrabarty, Professor Emeritus, Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India, has spent his entire professional life in teaching and research activities. His research work was mostly in the areas of Solid State Chemistry and Heterogeneous Catalysis. Mr. Chakrabarty is the author of many research papers and several books in these areas and also contributed to several monographs. He had given lectures at various universities and continues it till now. B. Viswanathan is the Head of the National Center for Catalysis Research, Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India. His research contributions are enormous in the fields of heterogeneous catalysis, materials science, theoretical chemistry, energy, nanotechnology and information science. He has published a number of research papers and books, and has been presented several awards and fellowships.
