About the Author

Paul Gauntt is a pastor and journalist. He has served numerous churches in music ministry and as pastor. He is currently pastor of First Baptist Church of Palmer, Texas. As a pastor's son, Paul grew up in both east and west Texas and attended Jacksonville College, Sam Houston State University, and Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1969-1973 and is married to Carolyn, a retired school teacher and former children's director. The couple has a son and daughter, who are twins, Derek and Randi. Paul and Carolyn also have six (soon to be seven) grandchildren whom they consider the "light of their lives."
