ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Dalen Keys believes that a moment of insanity led him to begin writing well into his fifth decade of knowing better. He quickly realized that he couldn t leverage his years of experience in research and manufacturing with the DuPont Company. He couldn t use his B.S. in chemistry from the University of North Alabama or even his Ph.D in chemistry from Rice University. While deep in despair, he realized that all was not lost. He could use the silly tales and wild stories he told his three children long before he had any thoughts of writing them down. Things suddenly looked better about writing; besides, he has to do something in Landenberg, PA while his wife, Mitzie, sews and quilts. ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR: Kim Sponaugle is a graduate of the Art Institute of Philadelphia and has worked in graphic arts and illustration for twenty years. She is a South Jersey girl at heart and has lived in Salem County most of her life. In 2007, Kim started Picture Kitchen Studio and has not looked back, illustrating more than 20 children s books with more on the way. Just like Chase, Kim has a much-loved quilt that belonged to her grandmother. When she snuggles up in that old quilt, it reminds her of her grandma s love and prayers. Kim and her husband Jerry have one son, Josh, and a little bug-eating Westie named Casey."
