Bill Cooke is an independent scholar and has a PhD in Religious Studies from Victoria University. Between 1996 and 2008 he was senior lecturer at the School of Visual Arts, University of Auckland at Manukau. This is his sixth book. His most recent work is A Wealth of Insights: Humanist Thought Since the Enlightenment (Prometheus, 2011). He is senior editor of Free Inquiry, the magazine of the Council for Secular Humanism, and Director of International Programs at the Center for Inquiry, based in Amherst, New York.
