I grew up in the outer suburbs of Sydney where teen pregnancy was a part of life yet, not talked about. It still was somewhat of a taboo subject, even at that age of 18teen. Therefore, I decided to write a tail about the worst possible outcome of what it is like to be a teen mother. A story where age, upbringing, religion, a pregnant teen and her decision to keep her baby, all the taboos she faces. The hospital, therapy, this is how k navigates her life and her choices, see what she sees, feel what she feels. Only through her therapy can, we being to understand just how her choices, have changed the outcome of K’s life, or what could have been? Did k make the right ones? To open up the doorway of conversation, that it is ok to talk about it, for it just might change the outcome of someone’s life, like One teen form self-harm or one child from ending up in the system or their death, even one teen in hospital. Only then, can we take the negative and make it positive.
