About the Author
After graduating from law school J. R. Ward began working in health care in Boston and spent many years as chief of staff for one of the premier academic medical centres in the U.S. She lives in Kentucky with her husband.

Just read the book. This is Tohr's story and him letting go of Wellsie so she can go into the Fade and back up characters who are link to him are Lassister-That Angel and No'One Xhex's mother. I found the story dragged with what he was suppose to do for Wellsie and the end part before the fade ceremony just set me off in tears. Lover awakened set me off in tears and so did this story. J R Ward is such a clever writer and thats why I have read all her books. The story also goes off on other stories about the brothers and enermies. It tells us about the band of bastards, John and Xhex struggles,Qhinn and Layla, Blay and Saxton, Wrath and tidbits about the shadows and others. So the book is jam packed and hopefully more stories to come. Great read and I am a fan.
This is a great addition to the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Tohr is still heartbroken over losing Wellsie and Lassiter is trying to get him to move on before he fails his mission and Wellsie is stuck in the InBetween for eternity. No'One (Xhex's Mother) is still living in the mansion trying to get closer to her daughter and has some unresolved drama with Tohr. There are a lot of Xhex and JM scenes in this novel as well is some advancement in the ongoing Qhuinn and Blaylock romance.
This whole story takes place over a year and the timeline feels appropriate to the novel. JR Ward warned on her website that you'd need tissues for this one and she was right. IT's completely heartbreaking in parts but well up to par with the other books - much better than Lover Unleashed. I loved it.
