Bill Olin, a native of Pasadena, California, spent the first eight years of his professional life teaching and coaching in the Pasadena City Schools. In 1978 he moved to the college level, continuing to coach and teach physical education. He coached college women's basketball for 30 years, nineteen at Point Loma Nazarene University (San Diego, California), and eleven more at MidAmerica Nazarene University (Olathe, Kansas). He retired in 2010, compiling winning records at both institutions. He is in the Point Loma Nazarene University Athletic Hall of Fame as a player and a coach. He received his B.A. (physical education major, history minor) from Pasadena College in 1969, acquired a Master's Degree from California State University at Los Angeles (1975), and earned a PhD at the University of Southern California in 1988. He married his wife, Barb, in 1968 and they have two children and four grandchildren.
