Reviews

Praise for The Mind-Murders

"[Van de Wetering's] odd-angled novels more and more resemble the sort of thing Simenon might have done if Albert Camus or Kobo Abe had sublet his skull. They make a sinister music as they seek the true law. They are quite wonderful, and The Mind Murders . . . [is] one of his best."
—John Leonard, The New York Times

“Original, subtle, sophisticated and graceful.”
—Los Angeles Times

“A superlative mystery writer.”
—TIME

“Well worth adding to your collection . . . [Van de Wetering’s] impish wit, serene storytelling and serene mind have been praised on both sides of the Atlantic.”
—The Chicago Tribune

“[A] unique atmospheric mix of police procedure, quirky characters, and Zen outlook.”
—The Boston Globe

Praise for Janwillem van de Wetering

"A superb storyteller."
—Chicago Tribune

“First and foremost in the genre is, once again, Janwillem van de Wetering…he knows police work and policemen, and he’s as sly as a Zen koan.”
—Men’s Journal

“What atmosphere! Elegant! Satisfying!”
—Baltimore Sun

"What makes this series so engaging is that the policemen are as quirky and complicated as the criminals."
—The Washington Post
