John M Hull is Honorary Professor of Practical Theology in the Queen's Foundation for Ecumenical Theological Education and Emeritus Professor of Religious Education at the University of Birmingham. His books, which include What Prevents Christian Adults from Learning, On Sight and Insight and In the Beginning There was Darkness are translated into a dozen foreign languages. For 25 years he was editor of the British Journal of Religious Education and is the General Secretary of the International Seminar on Religious Education and Values.
