About the Author

Rune Gade is Assistant Professor of Art History in the Department of Arts and Cultural Studies, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. He is the co-editor of Symbolic Imprints: Essays on Photography and Visual Culture (Aarhus University Press, 1999). Anne Jerslev is Associate Professor of film and media studies at the Department of Media, Cognition and Communication, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. She is among other things editor of Realism and 'Reality' in Film and Media (Museum Tusculanum Press 2002).
