About the Author

Philip Higgs is an Emeritus professor and research fellow in the department of education studies at the University of South Africa. His academic interests focus on philosophy of education and issues related to the transformation of higher education. Jane Smith has a masters' degree in philosophy and theology from the University of Oxford and is a professional editor. For many years, she worked full-time in the University of South Africa's language services directorate. She is a member of the Society for editors and proofreaders (UK) and now works as a freelance editor.
