About the Author

Born into poverty in southwest Virginia in 1883, Oliver Napoleon Hill was encouraged to write by his stepmother and soon discovered a talent for it. He began working as a "mountain reporter" for small-town newspapers and went on to become America's most beloved motivational author. His classic book Think and Grow Rich had sold twenty million copies by the time of Hill's death in 1970 and remains a cornerstone of the modern self-actualization movement. Before passing, Hill established the Napoleon Hill Foundation as a nonprofit educational institution, whose mission is to perpetuate his philosophy of leadership, self-motivation, and individual achievement.

Reviews

Hill (1883-1970) popularized the notion that anyone can be successful and find happiness in life, a philosophy that became the basis for many of his best-selling books, home-study courses, and lecture series. In the early 1960s, Hill and his longtime partner, W. Clement Stone, made a 13-film series that distilled their insights for personal achievement. This audio original combines audio from those films with commentary by 19 contemporary motivational speakers moderated by Reid (Think and Grow Rich). A bonus DVD includes all 13 films. The basic principles outlined here are as valid and sensible today as when Hill first articulated them. A prudent choice for anyone liking self-help/motivational titles.-Nann Blaine -Hilyard, Zion-Benton P.L., IL (c) Copyright 2011. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
