About the Author

Richard Dannelley is the author of the most popular book on the subject of the vortex phenomenon in Sedona, Arizona. He is a native of Arizona, born approximately fifty miles from Sedona in Prescott. His grandparents came to Arizona by horse drawn wagon in 1908. They settled outside of Douglas, Arizona, which is right on the Mexican border.

Richard's father was a geologist and mining engineer. He attributes his deep affinity for the mystery of the earth to the fact that as a small child he had the opportunity to accompany his father on numerous expeditions to exotic destinations in the desert where he inspected various mines and mining claims. During these adventures, Richard developed a sensitivity to the presence of the energetic qualities of the land. In other words, he learned how to feel the energies of the earth, which are always present but often overlooked. Richard's evolution from the natural simplicity of a child to that of a well-known writer and researcher in the field of metaphysics was largely catalyzed by his discovery, at the age of seventeen, by the writings of Carlos Castaneda.
