Ferdinand is the world's most peaceful - and - beloved little bull. While all of the other bulls snort, leap, and butt their heads, Ferdinand is content to just sit and smell the flowers under his favorite cork tree. Leaf's simple storytelling paired with Lawson's pen-and-ink drawings make "The Story of Ferdinand" a true classic. Commemorate the 75th anniversary of the book's original publication with this beautiful and affordable 8x8 paperback edition.
About the Author
Munro Leaf and Robert Lawson have collectively written and illustrated more than 40 acclaimed children's books.
This is not a video as the above review states, it is a little book and one I remember from my childhood and have since purchased for my own 5 year old daughter. The illustrations are black and white and show Ferdinand as he grows from a little calf into a giant but gentle bull. This book teaches a wonderful message of peace and that it's ok to be something of an outsider who resists peer pressure.
I grew up with Ferdinand. My children couldn't get enough of him. I had to read the same way every night. I gave my copy to our oldest grandchildren and couldn't replace it . The new format copy I bought recently is now to read to my first great-grandchildren. You can't keep a good story down! I've even made a cloth doorstop for my craft group, complete with flowers in his mouth.
