Author Reverend Cecilia Loving is the spiritual leader of SPIRITMUV(R) (www.spiritmuv.com), a trans-denominational church in New York City that embraces all faiths that celebrate love for one another. A 1985 graduate of New York University School of Law, Rev. Loving served as Associate Appellate Counsel at the Legal Aid Society, as an Associate at Kramer Levin Nessen Kamin & Frankel, and as a Senior Associate - and then as Counsel for 20 years at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP. While practicing law fulltime, she received her Masters of Divinity from New York Theological Seminary, obtaining the President's Award for academic excellence, as well as the Rising Star Award for her innovative work in ministry. "I began studying metaphysics as a teenager, so I have spent nearly 40 years studying spiritual principles. But practicing law is where my ministry actually began," Rev. Loving says. "The practice of law is often so stressful and challenging that I spent just as much time counseling young lawyers and law students as I did litigating cases. Whether I was working on litigation matters at the firm or chairing the Practicing Attorneys for Law Students (a mentoring organization for law students and lawyers of color), my role was not merely to help manage but also to motivate, not just to serve the client but also to inspire success."
