About the Author

Ann Ulrich Miller has written novels under the name Ann Carol Ulrich. Born in Madison, Wisconsin as Ann Schumacher, she grew up in the suburb of Monona. She married Jeff Ulrich in 1972, and attended Michigan State University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing. In 1978 she moved with her husband and toddler son to Aspen, Colorado, where she worked for The Aspen Times. After the birth of her second son in November 1980, she went to work for the Snowmass Village Sun. The move to Colorado was the beginning of her esoteric spiritual awakening. In 1984, she felt spurred on by unseen forces that seemed to direct her toward a mission of helping others awaken to their spirituality. At that time UFOs and the possibility of ET contact were present and becoming increasingly dominant in her life. After a ten-month stint in Corvallis, Oregon in 1984-1985, the family returned to western Colorado. At that point Ann became an associate director of UFO Contact Center International and continued to work for newspapers. The Star Beacon came into being in April 1987 after Ann felt directed to start a monthly newsletter dedicated to UFO percipients. The first novel in her Space Trilogy, Intimate Abduction, was published in 1988 and became the catalyst for the biggest and most devastating change in her lifetime. In 1989, almost four years after the birth of her third son, Ann came face to face with Ethan Miller, who had traveled 2,000 miles to meet her. The discovery of who he was and what that would mean in what she had considered to be a "stable life" would put her spirit to the test. Ann Ulrich Miller continues to write books and to publish The Star Beacon. She maintains Earth Star's Web site and assists others with Web and print publishing projects. She continues to spread awareness to make Planet Earth a more favorable place in which all may thrive and benefit from God's many gifts. After two years of living a reclusive life with her late husband, Ethan Miller, in southeastern Ohio, she returned to Colorado in May 2009, to be closer to her grandson, Vorian Ulrich. In Pagosa Springs, where she settled, she met another "mountain man" six months later and began a new, exciting life and love. Besides writing romantic suspense, she enjoys nature, the mountains, songbirds, hiking, and playing the piano. She is currently at home in western Colorado, working on her next novel.
