Danny Phegan is a well-known Albury identity with a very big heart and enormous energy. A larger than life character who typifies the image of the hardworking all-rounder Aussie bloke. He is the committed husband of Caroline, father of 5 children, a farmer, a horseman, a real estate agent, a publican, a popular musician and now an author. Danny and Caroline were high school sweethearts and Caroline was working as a radiographer at various outback towns and caught up with the Trail Of Dreams on occasions. They enjoy a strong, hard-working partnership. When Danny lost his Grandfather Herb Freyer to cancer he was shattered. He held his Grandfathers hand as he took his last breath and felt helpless and bereft. Travelling around much of the world he realised that Australias natural beauty was incomparable and upon returning home he decided to plan a fundraising horseride from the top of Australia to the bottom to raise $500,000 for cancer research. This book renews ones faith in humanity. Dannys goal was reached and the money raised has gone into successful research for new cancer drugs. Dannys dream had become a reality.
