Raised in suburban Detroit and educated at St. Mary's College and the University of Notre Dame, both in South Bend, Indiana, Brenda Darnley Martin happily left the Snow Belt in 1989 to relocate to Tampa, Florida with her husband, Mike. Since "thawing out," Brenda has spent most of her Florida career as an actress, comedian, voiceover professional, talk radio show host and producer, as well as a freelance writer/parody poet, children's book author and "mum" to several rescued Dachshunds. It was during her stint as a member of the theatre-staff at The Florida Aquarium, that Brenda became enthralled with the flounder and its ability to "hide in plain sight." That introduction served as the inspirational spark for the first book in her Treasure-Hunt Fish children's picture-book series, featuring the positive life lessons of three young fish living in Old Tampa Bay.
