About the Author

Ben Rafoth directs the writing center at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he teaches courses in writing, research methods, and composition theory and pedagogy. He is the editor or coeditor of the Heinemann-Boynton/Cook titles ESL Writers, Second Edition (2009) and A Tutor's Guide, Second Edition (2005).His essays and articles on composition theory and teaching have appeared in several publications, including Assessing Writing, Journal of Teaching Writing, Research in the Teaching of English, and The Writing Lab Newsletter. Ben was an executive officer for the International Writing Centers Association and is a recipient of the Ron Maxwell Award from the National Conference on Peer Tutoring in Writing.
