About the Author

Bill Reed was an executive in a number of Australian book publishing houses when he was not writing or plaffing around in the local pool. He was a State representative surf lifesaver. His thirteen novels, as well as his nine professionally-produced plays and short stories, have netted him national awards in drama, and long and short fiction. He now lives mostly in Sri Lanka. Murray Rose was voted The Greatest Australian Male Olympian of All Time in 1984. He won four Olympic gold medals, along with one silver and one bronze, and broke 15 world records. He held the 400, 800 and 1500 world records at the one time. During the Rome Olympics, he became the then youngest triple medal winner in Olympic history. For many years he lived in the United States, involving himself in his beloved swimming, as well as acting, sports commentating and marketing. With his wife, he resettled in Australia.
