Dave Seely grew up in the San Diego, California, area and learned the construction development trade in his early married life there. He moved his family to southern Utah, where he built many homes over the next eighteen years and where they currently reside. More than ten years ago he conceived of and built the very first black-light mini golf course (in St. George), as an addition to a family fun center he built a couple of years earlier. Since then, many similar courses dot the nation. While building another family fun center in Idaho in 2011, he had the idea for some of the walls to include abstract words woven into a colorful designâ "essentially a puzzle to figure out. People loved what he created, so he conceived books called Word Abstracts with puzzles that people of all ages could enjoy. His goal is to create one thousand designs in twenty different categories over the next five years.
