About the Author

LaShon Ormond is a mother, a writer, an avid reader, a believer in the complete and total development of girls and women (all people really), and a champion for fairness and equity in education and education policy. When not involved in her professional endeavors in the educational technology world, she chooses to focus on her passion: youth development. The release of The Worm Who Wanted No Wings is the first in the Read To Me, Please! series. The summer of 2015 will include several more titles in the series including The Hummingbird Who Wanted To Sing and The Bee Who Wanted To Lead. The goal of the Read To Me, Please! series is to get young people and their parents excited about books and reading through characters they can fall in love with and learn from at the same time.
