When a tussle with a sonic time scan leads the TARDIS back to Earth, the 4th Doctor (Tom Baker) and Leele discover strange happenings in a laboratory run by the secretive Dr Fendelman. This is a pretty hokey Tom Baker story, in which the Doctor has to defeat an ancient alien menace that apparently embodies death itself but looks a bit like a sock puppet. The idea that it's been influencing human affairs for millenia even down to the characters' surnames is a bit daft too. Still, Tom Baker fans will forgive anything, and the DVD has some nice extras including the real rarity for a 70s story of deleted scenes.
