This is so enjoyable... Me and my mum have started watching it and it is so awesome. If you are a period Drama fan or a classic fan, this is a series for you. It deals with a few issues, and you really get attached to the characters. Like the gossips, postmistress, farmers, & etc. I think the whole family will enjoy it. It has some noteable characters in it too... Like from pride & prejudice (long version & short), North & South, & etc. :)
We first saw this on UK tv and then bought the DVD for my mother in law. We hate the opening sequence - some of the special effects are a bit tacky - but the actual show is beautifully shot and lavishly produced. We love all the characters but Dorcas and Laura are our favourites. This is an easy to watch period drama; humorous and well paced. No dull spots in any episode.
