The 233 Glamour Girl Dress pattern by Folkwear came from a Hollywood style made popular during the 1930's and '40s. Movie studios published still photos of their stars in elegant attire, and fans clamoured for the chance to copy the dress, coiffures, and make-up of their favourites. Pattern Details: Folkwear Pattern #233 Glamour Girl Dress (Not finished garment) Misses sizes 6 - 16 (Bust 80cm - 100cm , Hips 80cm - 100cm ) All Sizes in one Envelope Pattern for dress in three lengths Glamour Girl Dress Details: This design is a stunning example of early 1940's styling, designed to emphasise feminine curves, drape elegantly , and give the wearer an aura of discreet sexiness. A close-fitting bodice is highlighed by a narrow "V" neckline. Front bodice and skirt gather into a curved midriff that ties at centre front, providing snug individual fit. A fitted back hip yoke ensures a smooth line. The flarred skirt drapes gracefully at centre front and back bias seams. The three-quarter length sleeves are distinctively gathered at the elbow. Dress zips at left side seam. Shoulder pads are essential for the proper early 1940's silhouette. Three lengths are offered - the ankle length of our original evening gown, a 1940's daytime knee length and a strictly contemporary mid-calf length. There are reasonalble yardage requirements, which reflect the need to conserve fabric during the Second World War.
