About the Author

Sophia Gill spent over ten years battling depression and an addiction to self-harm, and understands that much of her recovery was due to making very simple changes. In these tiny moments where she distracted herself from mental illness, depression took a back seat and loosened its grip ever so slightly. Each and every distraction has been tried and tested, and all have helped her become the confident, depression-free person she is today. Sophia has spoken about her experience with mental illness numerous times for television, radio, newspapers and magazines, and is regarded as an expert in this field. She writes with passion and honesty, and has recently been awarded an honours degree in creative writing.
