About the Author

Abdallah Emran is an Egyptian historian researching and documenting 20th Century Egyptian military history with the help of participant’s accounts, official documentation, film, photography and videos. Co-founder and former member of the Group 73 Historians, he has conducted hundreds of interviews with participants and eyewitnesses of Arab-Israeli wars, from all branches of the Egyptian military. He participated in the production of dozens of acknowledged documentaries, including TV-shows like Wings of Fury, Ababil, Battalion 418, and books like Golden Eagles. This is his first instalment for Helion. Tom Cooper is an Austrian aerial warfare analyst and historian. Following a career in the worldwide transportation business – during which he established a network of contacts in the Middle East and Africa – he moved into narrow-focus analysis and writing on small, little-known air forces and conflicts, about which he has collected extensive archives. This has resulted in specialisation in such Middle Eastern air forces as of those of Egypt, Iran, Iraq, and Syria, plus various African and Asian air forces. As well as authoring and co-authoring more than 50 books - including an in-depth analysis of major Arab air forces at wars with Israel in period 1955-1973 - and over 1000 articles, Cooper is editor of Helion's five @War series.

Reviews

'...one of the most extensively detailed books to date on air combat during this conflict. '
*Air Forces Monthly*

This is a splendid reference on the 1973 War, but also one with considerable interest for modellers.
