About the Author

This little grammar was written in 1985 when a group of compatriots in New York and I were students of the great Haitian linguist Dr. Yves Déjean at the Bank Street College of Education. Copies of the book were given free to all Kreyòl students then. Today, under pressure from my old and new students everywhere, I must print it for those who want to learn the Creole alphabet!
