Reviews

Knitting can be quick when you make small projects such as those found in this book. Several designers are brought together here in a harmonious pattern book that concentrates on small items such as hats, gloves, bags and socks for adults as well as some sweater patterns for kids. Overall the patterns are good, I like the lace scarves and the stained glass hat and mittens. This 144 page book has clear instructions with good photography and charts for two-colour knitting. A basic guide to knitting is found in the back of the book. However this book is very much a celebration of yarn and I doubt that you would find these yarns in the UK. You would need to substitute by matching tension.-KarenPlatt.co.uk The original Homespun Handknit was published in 1988 and this is a new volume, featuring small projects to knit with handspun yarn. It boasts over 25 projects for all levels of knitters or spinners, or just fans of handspun yarns. Inside you'll find mittens, children's items, wraps, things for the home and more, by some of today's best-known designers. The book also has advice on how to spin a variety of fibres with specific projects in mind, and each project includes information on the special techniques used to create each yarn. A knitting and spinning glossary is also provided to help with unfamiliar terms.-Knit Today
