About the Author

Kate Winkler Dawson is an associate professor in journalism at the University of Texas. A seasoned documentary producer, her work has appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, WCBS News, ABC News Radio, 'PBS NewsHour' and 'Nightline'.
