Pedro Fernandes is a freelance wildlife illustrator. Born in
Lisbon, Pedro earned a degree in Earth Sciences, and later studied
Science Illustration at the University of California, Santa Cruz
and at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. As a child, Pedro wanted to
be a condor when he grew up. Having failed at that, he settled for
becoming a wildlife illustrator. He loves watching birds, drawing
birds, and going places to see birds―his pretext to explore the
natural world and an endless source of amazement and discovery.
Pedro lives in Morocco.
