Hilary Hawkes has been a writer since her teens. As well as non-fiction, she is the author of several children's books. Hilary lives with and knows the problems that Asperger's can bring - her husband, one of her three children and other immediate family members have suffered from the condition. 'A great read...This book is a shining example of how to keep a tight focus and write something which is eminently helpful and practical throughout. The author has included clear "black and white" advice in table form on areas such as social skills, friendships, training and work...This is a really positive little book, which looks at the whole issue of AS, and from diagnosis to adult life. A really useful book for both teachers and parents of those living with AS, as well as for AS individuals themselves.' TES.co.uk. 'I highly recommend this new book. This is one of the easiest books to read and one of the best books I've ever read'. asperger-syndrome.me.uk. 'This is a practical book that can be dipped into and revisited - one which is current, informed and immensely helpful. I thoroughly recommend it.' Su Orosa, project leader, ASpire.
