About the Author

Esther Blazer Pilgrim is a former foster child who spent her childhood in and out of the system and finally aged out of the San Bernardino County, California foster care system at 17 years old. Esther joined the Army and ultimately was separated from her own children to serve during the Persian Gulf War. Esther graduated college in her early 30's, finally earning her lifetime desired degree in nursing. During her lifetime, Esther has been a victim of violent crimes, misdemeanors, exploitation and in 2007 the internet romance scam victim of Tim Dog. Esther now commits her energy and passion as Founder to Hope Chasers, a non-profit organization committed to raising awareness to the plight and prognosis of foster children and inspiring hope in children who are where she once was. She also uses her "bulldog" testimony in effort to inspire fosters and at-risk youth to be relentless and determined to find their hope.
